Kim Davis VS Same Sex Marriage

Today Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk (you know, the one who decries gay marriage and won’t issue licenses to gay couples because, in her eyes, it desecrates the sanctity of marriage, even though she’s been married three times? Yeah, that Kim Davis) was taken into custody after being found in contempt of the court for being the most ridiculous and absurd human being on the planet. And, y’know, because she’s violating federal law.

Davis, with her I-drink-Mountain-Dew-for-breakfast haircut and her I-can’t-hold-down-a-husband-so-I’m-taking-it-out-on-innocent-strangers glasses, believes she should be exempt from following the U.S. Supreme Court ruling because she objects to it on religious grounds. Keep in mind that she’s been divorced three times, married four times, including twice to the same man – who adopted her kids born out of wedlock as the result of an extramarital affair. Keep it classy, Kim.

While her lawyers scramble around in an attempt to cobble together a defense for this person who obviously doesn’t believe in the separation of church and state, Davis has been sued by four separate couples, probably at least once because she looks like a bridge troll. Her office refused to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple as recently as Thursday morning.

If I sound like I’m being cruel to her, it’s because I am. She has no right to bring her beliefs into the public office she serves – and nobody else does, for that matter. You do not get to dictate whether or not people can marry based on whether you believe in it; it is not your choice, Kim. You are forcing your (recently acquired) belief system onto people who are not interested in it, and that is wrong in ways I cannot even begin to describe. Not to mention you’ve been bullying your staff into parroting your absolutely insane views, and forcing them to not issue licenses as well. Tell me, do you think your god looks favorably on such cruel behavior? Perhaps a sabbatical from work and a long period of introspection is in order…after all, the saying goes, “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” Right?

Do us a favor, honey: apologize, pay your debt, stop wasting taxpayer money by being a righteous cow, and give those nice couples their damn marriage licenses.
