Common Online Dating Lies

Online Dating Lies

When you’re dating online it’s inevitable that you’ll come across liars and every once in a while somebody has a crazy, outlandish lie that you catch right off the bat. That’s not what this is about the average lies we say on a first date. This article is going to cover the online dating lies that you’ll definitely see if you have ever tried making a dating profile and interacting with other guys online.

The first lie is height. I think every guy I’ve ever talked to has told me that he’s 6 feet tall. It’s like the ultimate dream for guys to be 6 feet tall and being pretty tall myself whenever we both show up on the date they’re also shocked to find out how tall I am and tell me that they think I might be a few inches taller. Everybody lies about height or it may be that nobody has ever gotten correctly measured.

Next is the guy who lies about his connections. He knows every person in the city somehow and is apparently acquainted with some celebrity. “Oh I know the drummer from Cool Band me and my friends went to his show and he nodded at me while on stage and invited us for VIP passes. We’re cool now, I have him on Facebook.” This probably means that he met them once and if he saw this celebrity then they probably wouldn’t recognize him.

Going hand in hand with the guy who knows celebrities you have the guy that apparently can get you into the hottest nightclubs and booked hotels. These dates rarely make it past the first because this guy is usually bringing a new hook up there every week.

The one who won’t stop talking about their ex, they swear their over their ex but you know they’re totally not. In fact they might be on this date just to get an Instagram snap so that their ex can see they’re out dating. Stay away.

The person who lies about their age, this one always makes me laugh because how do you expect to get further then the first few dates if you’re not who you say you are.

Lastly who have the ones who don’t exactly portray their body the same way online? They put up pictures from a marathon they trained for two years ago and they’re looking good but you realize when you meet up with them that they are no longer in shape like that. Nobody should have to lie about their body. We are all beautiful and unique.
