Before the 19th century, there were only few cultures that used a specific garment by men to swim or bath, like the Japanese who would used a loincloths also known as fundoshi. Until 1906 men would bath naked in public. Then authorizes insisted on men covering up with special bathing costumes and in 1912 the company Bentz Knitting Mills added swimwear to their product line. Years following there became a huge demand for swimwear.

Things have definitely changed a lot over the years – especially women’s bathing suits.26 Let’s take a quick look at the progression of men’s bathing suits over 100 years. Here are a few of my favorites!
