“Yesterday’s struggle is today’s heritage” – NYC Pride

Its pride month and we’re bringing you details on another huge pride event. Gay Pride events in New York (NYC Pride) officially begin today.  There will be plenty of things to see and do for NYC Pride week (June 21 to June 28) and today we list some anticipated events.

The NYC Pride week events really start on June 24 with Family Night at 7:30pm EST. Get ready for some pride “family-style” and head down to Hudson River Park’s Pier 63 to watch Finding Nemo. This is a free event and absolutely everybody is welcome!

On June 26, attend the NYC Pride Rally and kick off the true Pride events in style and help spread awareness. In honor of the original Stonewall Riots that happened in June of 1969 and started gay pride. NYC will hold the rally at Hudson River Park’s Pier 26 and hip hop artist Ashanti will be there to sing and riot along with everybody else. The Pride Rally runs from 7pm EST to 9:30 EST, be there!

After the rally, check out the Friday night event,  “Fantasy”.  It’s going to be totally wicked! It’s a burlesque masquerade party that takes place at The Diamond Horseshoe. Don’t miss out on this one! There will be an amazing light show in this $20 million establishment and the DJ line up is The Freemasons from the UK and Kitty Glitter from Sydney but don’t let that fool you because they are releasing secret acts all night long.

June 27  is party night with three raging, gay parties going on. Go enjoy the VIP Rooftop Party at the Hudson Terrace Rooftop that includes an open bar. Or you can check out WeParty where 3,000 hot college men party hard. You’re in detention! It’s happening at the Hammerstein Ballroom!
The third event of the evening if for the ladies and will be held at Teaze. for more details, be sure to check the NYC Pride official website.

NYC Pride week ends on June 28 and it’s a full day. You have Pride Fest on Hudson Street which is stocked with food, vendors, art and great music. Bring your pocket change and walk around it’s going to be wicked.

Then The March starts at 12pm and it spans from 36th St and Fifth Avenue to the end of Christopher and Greenwich streets. Full of prizes for pride spirit and guest speakers who are strong activists and stood up to make gay rights happen.
