Are you ready for the kind of cabaret or burlesque experience made more for you? Broadway Bares is happy to provide! Broadway Bares is an organization that blends sexy fun with charity. They work to raise awareness for HIV / AIDS research and this summer they are celebrating their 25th edition with a special event: Top Bottoms of Burlesque! On Sunday June 21, the Hammerstein Ballroom will be electrified but we’ll let their YouTube add give you the low-down:

The show was originally created by Jerry Mitchell in 1992 and is put on once a year in June at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. This year’s “Top Bottoms of Burlesque” event at the Hammerstein will be their biggest yet! Since starting Broadway Bares has raised over $11.3 million. They also include celebrity guests including James Franco.

Broadway Bares also created a cute side charity project called “Broadway Bears”. Broadway Bears creates Teddy Bears based on the characters of the show and auctioned them off.
The bears wore handmade custom, mini costumes from the shows. Some of the bears were signed by notable people involved in the shows one of them being, Sir Elton John. On the bears they had raised over $2 million so far.

You can check out their YouTube channel for more info and for sneak previews and trailers. If you’re looking for a unique and fun show in NYC this is the one for you. It’s entertaining and it helps spread awareness about AIDS as well as raise money to find a cure.
